A lot has happened!
I feel bad for not updating earlier, but better late than never.
Today was my fifth day of radiation. YES, I started treatment for my brain tumor! The treatment is at Houston, TX, which is about four hours away from my home city. The radiation is five days a week (and about 20 minutes each session), so we plan to drive to Houston on Sunday afternoons (or Monday mornings, depending on when my radiation is at that day), and drive back on Fridays so that we have weekends to spend at home sweet home. I'm actually writing this post as we are driving back.
Oh, my. It has been quite the journey already. I feel like I am in a dream! Houston is a wonderful, bustling city, but I'd much rather spend my life at home, with all my siblings. My radiation ends on May 8th, but I am going back to school on May 13th. If you've done the math, that's six weeks away from school! A bit sad to miss that much school of your senior year, but I don't mind that part too much. I will be doing my homework while in Houston and submitting some of my work electronically to my teachers. (Sorry, I'm just throwing out random thoughts here and there because I just want to cover as much as I can!)
I experienced a few symptoms from radiation this week: nausea and loss of appetite. Thinking about food just made me feel sick! Luckily, we got medicine for that today and I was feeling much better.
This experience has made me realize already that some people are just SO generous. It's making me tear up! They have so much love in their hearts and they do things for the good of others. It's beautiful and it inspires me a lot.
I cannot say I love being in a hotel room 24/7 with my parents... I love my parents with all my heart, and I'm not one of those teenagers that goes "I hate my parents omg" or whatever - I actually enjoy their presence...just not when I see their faces every single second! Let me just say, I am SO ready for this weekend!
And I think that's about all that I can think of saying for now. It's very dark and I just want to get home already!
Wish me luck in the coming weeks..
